Morocco's trade deficit narrows by 4.2% in last 4 months

Morocco's trade deficit narrowed by 4.2% in the first four months of 2021 compared to the same period in 2020, the Exchange Control Office has said, according to MAP news agency.

The same source added that Morocco’s trade gap narrowed to 62.77 billion dirhams by the end of April, noting that the coverage rate of imports by exports has increased to 62%.

Imports amounted to 165.39 billion Dirhams (+10.7%), while exports increased by 22.3% to 102.62 billion Dirhams, according to the same source.

Imports of finished goods jumped by 24.7%, while those of capital goods increased by 7.1%. According to the Exchange Control Office, exports of the automotive sector rose by 62.6%.
