Israel destroys Gaza tower housing foreign media

A building containing the offices of the Associated Press and Al Jazeera in Gaza has been destroyed by an Israeli air strike, BBC reported.

According to the same source, Israel's military says the tower block housed "military assets" belonging to the Hamas militant groups.

At least 10 people, including eight children, are killed in an Israeli air strike on a refugee camp in Gaza, said BBC according to officials.

Hamas responds by firing dozens of rockets at cities in Israel, killing one man near Tel Aviv.

Diplomatic efforts to end the fighting are likely to intensify following the arrival of US envoy Hady Amr, according to BBC.

Saturday is the day when Palestinians commemorate what they call al-Nakba, or the catastrophe, when Israel came into being in 1948.
