Morocco condemns Israeli aggressions in Jerusalem

Morocco’s government head, Saad Eddine El Othmani, condemned today the Israeli aggressions and violation in the holy city of Jerusalem when he was talking in the House of Representatives.

Al-Othmani said, "We are following with great anger the successive violations of the Israeli occupation forces against Jerusalem and the Jerusalemites, and Israeli attacks on the nights of Ramadan against Muslim worshipers in the Al-Aqsa Mosque.”

The Moroccan head of government added, "We cannot but reject, denounce those attacks and violations and all transgressions that affect the Islamic character of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the city of Jerusalem."

Al Othmani sent a salute to the people of Jerusalem who are “defending the city of Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque and rejecting the attempts to Judaize them.”

Morocco expressed “deep “concern on Sunday on what is happening in the City of Jerusalem because of “the violent incidents in Al Quds Asharif and Al Aqsa Mosque,”, the ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad said.

"Morocco, whose Sovereign HM King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, chairs the Al Quds Committee, considers these violations as an inadmissible act and likely to stir up tensions," the ministry said in a statement.

The Kingdom, it added, "considers that unilateral measures are hardly the solution, just as it calls for dialogue and respect for rights".

The ministry stressed that Morocco affirms the need to preserve the special status of the city of Al Quds and to protect the Islamic character of the holy city and the sanctity of the Al Aqsa Mosque.
