Britain Hails Morocco’s Leadership in Energy Transition

Britain has praised the rapid momentum of Morocco’s energy sector and its pioneering experience in energy transition, describing the Kingdom as a key player and a reliable partner in achieving energy security and carbon neutrality goals.

This came during bilateral talks held on Saturday in London between Leila Benali, Morocco’s Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, and Ed Miliband, the UK Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, on the sidelines of the "Future of Energy Security" summit. The meeting was attended by Hakim Hajoui, Morocco’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom.

The talks provided an opportunity to exchange views on ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fields of renewable energy, green hydrogen, and energy infrastructure development.

During the meeting, Minister Benali highlighted the far-sighted Royal vision that laid the foundations for Morocco’s national energy sovereignty, stressing that the Kingdom continues to implement ambitious projects to reinforce its regional and international positioning in the field of clean energy.

These discussions are part of the ongoing positive dynamic in relations between Morocco and the United Kingdom, aimed at establishing a strategic partnership that supports economic development and addresses environmental challenges in the face of global climate change.
