First official contact after crisis: Spanish FM to talk with Morocco's counterpart Wednesday

The Spanish Foreign Minister, Jose Manuel Albares, will hold a remote video conversation tomorrow, Wednesday, with his Moroccan counterpart, Nasser Bourita, Spanish news agency EFE said.

EFE Agency, quoting Spanish diplomatic sources, said that Albares will speak with Bourita during his participation in the work of the 76th session of the General Assembly at the United Nations headquarters in New York, an event that Bourita will miss.

The two ministers are expected to talk about strengthening bilateral relations between Morocco and Spain, restoring bilateral relations to their previous nature, and overcoming the diplomatic crisis that existed between the two countries over the issue of "Polisario" leader Ibrahim Ghali.

This conversation, if it takes place on Wednesday, will be the first official contact between high-ranking officials of the two countries since last April.
