King Mohammed VI Voices Solidarity with Qatar in Call with Emir, Condemns Iranian Attack on Al Udeid Base

Morocco's King Mohammed VI held a telephone conversation with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, during which he expressed the Kingdom of Morocco’s solidarity with the State of Qatar and strongly condemned the Iranian attack on Al Udeid Air Base, which he described as a blatant violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and airspace, as well as of international law and the United Nations Charter, according to Qatar News Agency (QNA).

According to the same source, King Mohammed VI firmly rejected any act of aggression that threatens the security and safety of Qatar and undermines the stability of the region, calling on the Emir of Qatar to exercise restraint and resort to diplomatic solutions.

For his part, the Emir of Qatar expressed his gratitude to the Moroccan monarch for his sincere fraternal sentiments and valued solidarity with the State of Qatar and its people.

Morocco had earlier condemned the Iranian attack on the Al Udeid base in Qatar, expressing solidarity with Doha and denouncing Tehran, according to a statement by the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Kingdom of Morocco strongly condemned the blatant missile attack that targeted the sovereignty and airspace of the sister State of Qatar.

In a statement released Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates said the Kingdom expresses its full solidarity with the sister State of Qatar in the face of anything that may affect its security and the safety of its citizens.
