French President Emmanuel Macron praised on Thursday in Paris the excellent relations between France and Morocco, stressing the strong prospects for further developing the Reinforced Exceptional Partnership with the Kingdom.
Speaking at the opening of the Conference of French Ambassadors accredited abroad, Macron said that in a “chaotic world,” France believes in strengthening partnerships and has translated this conviction into concrete action. He underlined the “philosophy” and “efficiency” of such partnerships as a central pillar of French diplomacy.
In this context, the French president cited the exceptional ties with Morocco as one of the very solid foundations of France’s Mediterranean diplomacy, noting that relations with the Kingdom now encompass the construction of an “extremely strong bond.”
Macron also emphasized the growing importance of economic diplomacy, calling for French diplomatic action to adapt to ongoing geopolitical changes and shifting international dynamics.
The French head of state further stressed the need to firmly anchor France’s partnership with the African continent, describing it as a key strategic priority. He urged ambassadors stationed in Africa to intensify their efforts to ensure that the work undertaken is brought to completion by 2026.
The annual Conference of French Ambassadors brings together all French diplomatic representatives in Paris with the President of the Republic to define the main priorities of France’s foreign policy for the year ahead.
