Morocco extends state of health emergency until May 10

Morocco’s government decided on Thursday the extension of the the state of health emergency across the national territory until May 10, 2021, as part of efforts aimed at curbing the spread of the pandemic of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).

The Government Council approved draft decree No. 2.21.132 extending the period of validity of the state of health emergency throughout the national territory to curb the spread of Covid-19, which was introduced by the Interior Minister, said Minister of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research, government spokesman, Saaid Amzazi, in a press release read during a press briefing following the weekly cabinet meeting.

To ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the measures taken in the context of the fight against the spread of the pandemic linked to Covid-19, this draft decree extends the state of health emergency throughout the national territory from Saturday, April 10, 2021, until Monday, May 10, 2021, at 6 p.m., said Amzazi.
