Morocco, Malawi Discuss Means to Strengthen Relations between Private Sectors

The means to strengthen economic ties between private sector operators in Morocco and Malawi were at the heart of a working session, held Wednesday in Casablanca, between the Malawian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Eisenhower Nduwa Mkaka, and the vice-president of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), Mehdi Tazi.

On this occasion, Nduwa Mkaka, who is currently on a visit to Morocco, highlighted partnership opportunities in several economic sectors, which can benefit business communities in both countries.

Discussions, according to the Malawian minister, focused on the development of bilateral economic relations, in the wake of the new trade dynamic in Africa driven by the entry into force of the African Continental Free Trade Area.

This meeting makes it possible to lay down the foundations for a solid and fruitful economic partnership for the two countries and for the exchange of expertise and know-how in key sectors, he pointed out.

For his part, Tazi underscored the importance of promoting economic ties to create more added value and employment opportunities, noting that Malawi has enormous potential in the agricultural and mining sector.

The respective private sectors of Morocco and Malawi can create synergies, exchange expertise and stimulate investments, within the framework of sustainable socio-economic development, he said.

In parallel with the improvement of the health situation throughout the world, economic relations are called to be further strengthened between Morocco and Malawi, said Tazi.

Tazi announced the organization, in the coming weeks, of a virtual business forum to bring together economic operators from the two countries and explore cooperation opportunities.
