Morocco receives another batch of Covid-19 vaccine from China

Morocco received on Sunday another batch of Covid-19 vaccine from Chinese pharmaceutical company Sinopharm composed of 1 million doses.

According to Morocco’s health authorities, this new batch arrived on board the Royal Air carrier and landed in Casablanca airport this morning.

The doses of this shipment were distributed to the regional centers in the different regions within the kingdom of Morocco in order to continue the national vaccination campaign against Coronavirus.

The Chinese Sinopharm is currently the main supplier of Morocco from the Covid-19 vaccine, and it has delivered Morocco more than 10 million doses so far after the Indian Serum Institute has decided months ago to stop delivering AstraZeneca vaccine to Morocco in order to focus on the national campaign in India.

Morocco has vaccinated more than 10 million of its citizen full vaccination so far and aims to reach herd immunity by vaccinating 80 percent of the population, which means vaccinating 25 million people.
