Morocco Records Over 72,000 New Businesses in First Eight Months of 2025, Up 17.5%

Morocco created 72,343 new businesses during the first eight months of 2025, marking a 17.5% increase compared to the same period in 2024, Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills Younes Sekkouri said on Monday before the House of Representatives.

The minister noted that the number of businesses that ceased operations during the same period did not exceed 15,000, highlighting a positive gap between company creation and closures.

Sekkouri also reported a significant rise in the number of companies that regularly declare their employees to the National Social Security Fund (CNSS). This number increased from 255,000 companies in 2019 to 344,000 by the end of 2024, representing a 34% growth compared to the pre-Covid period.

He added that the monitoring of these indicators relies on statistics from the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC), as well as data from the CNSS, ensuring the reliability of the reported figures.
