A government council, chaired by Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch, is set to convene on Thursday, according to a statement from his office.
At the beginning of its proceedings, the Council will examine three draft decrees. The first concerns the creation of new districts and a new caïdat (local administrative division); the second sets out the procedures for implementing alternative sentences and the third deals with the implementation of Article 13 of the framework law on the protection and promotion of the rights of persons with disabilities, according to the same source.
The Council will then review two cooperation agreements signed on November 13, 2024, in Riyadh between the governments of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The first agreement concerns the transfer of convicted persons, while the second pertains to mutual legal assistance in criminal matters. The Council will also examine two draft laws approving said agreements, the statement adds.
At the close of its proceedings, the Council will review proposals for senior-level appointments, in accordance with the provisions of Article 92 of the Constitution, the statement concludes.
