Morocco Suspends flights to, from 3 European countries

Morocco announced, on Tuesday, the suspension of all flights to and from Germany, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands, starting from midnight tonight.

The Moroccan authorities did not reveal the reasons behind this decision, but it is strongly likely due to the epidemiological conditions in the three countries, where they have known in recent days a significant increase in the number of infections with the Coronavirus.

It was also not indicated when this decision will remain in effect, but it is expected to last at least two weeks before the scientific committee studies the epidemiological situation of these countries to find out what decision will be taken, whether to resume flights or extend the suspension.

This decision comes less than two weeks after Morocco decided to suspend all flights with Russia, as the latter, in turn, knew a significant increase in the number of infections with the Coronavirus, and it also exceeded a record number of daily deaths from the virus, by more than a thousand cases per day.

Through these measures, Morocco seeks to reduce the risk of the spread of Covid 19 infection inside the country again through the movement of people, especially since Morocco has recently been experiencing a noticeable decline in the number of new infections with the Coronavirus, and therefore seeks to maintain this trend.
