Morocco, WB Discuss Perspectives of Digital Transformation

Morocco's Minister Delegate for Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, Ghita Mezzour and World Bank Director for the Maghreb and Malta Jesko S. Hentschel, discussed last Friday in Rabat, development perspectives of digital transformation.

The meeting was an opportunity to discuss means of cooperation in digital transformation, development of cooperation, and strengthening of partnership in the various areas of common interest.

At the end of the meeting, Hentschel told the media that since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic (covid-19), the Kingdom has accelerated its digital transition, stressing that today, digitization offers Morocco new opportunities for development to make economic transactions fluid or to improve the delivery of services to businesses and individuals.

The WB has a particular interest in Morocco, which is reflected in the support of many national projects, said Hentschel, adding that the aim is to boost this capacity and leverage the digital transformation for development.

For her part, Mezzour noted that her department is carrying out several projects in partnership with the WB under the program "ENNAJAA", which focuses on the digitization of public administration to ensure a comprehensive and sustainable economic recovery.
