Plane Carrying Moroccan National Team coming from Guinea arrives in Morocco 'safely'

The plane carrying the national soccer team and the technical staff left, Sunday evening, Guinea to Morocco, said the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Conakry.

The plane landed safely on Monday morning, at the Moroccan capital airport.

The Moroccan team was to play a match against Guinea, Monday in Conakry, for the 2nd day (Group I) of the African qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup, a game that was postponed by the African Football Confederation (CAF) and FIFA because of developments in the situation in this African country.

CAF had indicated that the information regarding the rescheduling of this match will be communicated later.

On Sunday, Guinea Conakry witnessed a military coup led by a number of officers against President Alpha Condé.

Pictures obtained by "Assahifa" showed the arrest of the Guinean president by members of the Guinean army, and gunshots were heard near the presidential residence.
