Morocco has strengthened the capabilities of its armed forces with new military vehicles of the “Triva 30” model manufactured in the Czech Republic, according to Spanish outlet El Confidencial Digital on Wednesday, less than two years after Rabat and Prague signed a military cooperation agreement.
According to the Spanish media source, these vehicles, whose exact number delivered to Morocco was not specified, represent a qualitative boost to the Moroccan army's logistical structure. The specialized units enable rapid intervention on battlefields and the recovery of damaged vehicles, reducing downtime for military units and maintaining combat readiness under complex conditions.
The same source noted that the “Triva 30” vehicles fall within the category of heavy tactical recovery trucks, specifically designed to operate in rugged environments and difficult terrain, providing advanced technical solutions for towing, lifting, and field evacuation of heavy military equipment.
The system, the Spanish newspaper added, was developed by a Czech defense industry company and mounted on a heavy 8×8 truck chassis, granting it high maneuverability, stability, and the capacity to bear substantial loads during operational missions.
The outlet further highlighted that among the most notable technical features of these vehicles is a towing capacity of up to 25 tons, in addition to a mechanical crane with a maximum lifting capacity of 30 tons, allowing them to handle various types of heavy combat vehicles, including tanks and armored personnel carriers.
The “Triva 30” is also equipped with a four-door armored cabin that provides protection for the technical crew during recovery missions in high-risk areas, while also allowing the transport of personnel from the disabled vehicle, a feature that enhances field safety.
The integration of these new trucks is expected to improve the Royal Armed Forces’ ability to reduce technical downtime for field units, particularly during large-scale exercises or prolonged missions that require continuous logistical support.
This development comes roughly two years after Morocco and the Czech Republic signed a military and technical cooperation agreement in 2024, covering areas such as training, exercises, defense industry collaboration, technical support, exchange of expertise, military health services, and cybersecurity.
At the time, Morocco’s Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of National Defense Administration, Abdellatif Loudiyi, received the Czech Defense Minister in Marrakech on the sidelines of the “Marrakech Air Show 2024,” where the military cooperation agreement between the two countries was signed in the presence of senior military officials.
During those meetings, the Czech official emphasized the strategic importance of partnership with Morocco, expressing admiration for the Kingdom’s economic and social development, which has positioned it as a dynamic regional actor and a pillar of stability within its Euro-Mediterranean and African neighborhood.
