Nearly 2 tons of narcotics seized in northern Morocco

Nearly 2 tons of narcotics were seized by 2 Royal Navy coast guards were patrolling, on Sunday, in the Mediterranean.

According to Moroccan news agency MAP, the Royal Navy thwarted off the coast of Cape Spartel a drug trafficking operation after chasing a go-fast chase that tried in vain to recover 55 bundles of narcotics, weighting nearly of two tons, from an artisanal boat, said a military source.

The three people arrested, the vessel as well as the drugs seized were transported by the coast guards of the Royal Navy to the port of Tangiers and handed over to the competent authorities for the usual legal procedures, the source added.
