Hakimi Leads PSG to Historic Champions League Triumph with Final Masterclass

Achraf Hakimi delivers yet another masterclass as Paris Saint-Germain secure their first-ever UEFA Champions League title, in a one-sided thrashing against Italy’s Inter Milan 5-0 in the final held on Saturday at the Allianz Arena in Munich.

The Moroccan right-back adds a second Champions League trophy to his personal tally, having previously been part of Real Madrid’s 2018 champion team.

Hakimi opened the scoring in the 12th minute to kickstart the evening’s rout, following a superb collective move from PSG. Picked out inside the box by Vitinha, Désiré Doué turned sharply before laying off a perfect ball to the Atlas Lion, who finished calmly with the inside of his foot.

Hakimi, a defender with a natural attacking instinct, broke the deadlock, and it was Doué who struck next, doubling the lead just six minutes later (20’).

The young Frenchman found the net again in the 63rd minute, sealing his brace and PSG’s third goal, before Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (73’) and Senny Mayulu (86’) killed any chance of Inter Milan getting back into the game.

Already a scorer in the quarterfinal against Aston Villa and in the semi final against Arsenal, Hakimi has firmly established himself as a key figure in this Paris side, a team that, with this victory, completes a historic treble: Ligue 1, Coupe de France, and now, the Champions League.
