The Moroccan pavilion was awarded the Award of Excellence for Best Design and Decoration at the 2026 Outbound Travel Market (OTM) trade show in Mumbai on Saturday, recognising the pavilion’s immersive design and attention to detail.
Covering 200 m² and organised by the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT), the pavilion combined tradition and modernity to showcase Morocco’s craftsmanship, culture, and visual identity as Africa’s leading tourist destination. Majestic arches, carved lanterns, projections of zellige patterns, and cultural performances offered visitors and tourism professionals a rich sensory experience.
The award highlights the pavilion’s originality and meticulous staging at an event hosting over 2,100 exhibitors from more than 60 countries and attracting over 50,000 professional visitors. Nine Moroccan incoming travel agencies participated, making the pavilion a key platform to boost Morocco’s visibility, forge partnerships, and attract new tourist flows.
Inaugurated on Thursday in the presence of Morocco’s ambassador to New Delhi, Mohamed Maliki, the three-day fair is one of the main tourism events in India and Asia. Morocco’s participation comes amid strong growth in Indian tourism to the Kingdom, with arrivals up 31% in 2025 compared to 2024 and 224% compared to 2019, underscoring the destination’s growing appeal for Indian travellers.
