Morocco Nears 20 Million Tourists in 2025, Records Historic Revenues

Morocco welcomed 19.8 million tourists in 2025, marking a 14% increase compared to 2024, according to figures released by the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy.

For the first time, the Kingdom came close to the symbolic threshold of 20 million visitors, a performance the ministry described as a new milestone confirming the sector’s strong and sustained growth trajectory.

In a press release, the ministry attributed this historic result to the tangible outcomes of the 2023–2026 Tourism Roadmap, which prioritizes enhanced air connectivity, the structuring of accommodation capacity, diversification of tourism offerings, improved service quality, and stronger territorial investment.

The surge in arrivals was accompanied by record tourism revenues, which reached MAD 124 billion by the end of November 2025, representing a 19% rise year-on-year. The ministry noted that these figures underscore tourism’s growing role as a key driver of regional and national economic growth.

Commenting on the results, Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy Fatim-Zahra Ammor said that the arrival of nearly 20 million tourists reflects “the profound transformation of Moroccan tourism,” driven by the vision of King Mohammed VI toward a more efficient and sustainable sector that generates value at the local level.

The ministry concluded that 2025 stands as a strategic turning point, opening a new chapter aligned with Morocco’s ambition to welcome 26 million tourists by 2030 and to consolidate its position as a leading global tourism destination.
