Morocco begins vaccinating citizens over age of 65

In Morocco, the vaccination campaign reached on Friday, day number 9, with almost 252 thousand people already vaccinated against COVID-19.

In recent days, citizens over the age of 65 have been the required category to receive the first vaccine dose.

According to official sources from the Ministry of Health, the health authority in Morocco now invites people over the age of 65 to receive the first dose of vaccine, and the process is still going.

The Health Ministry is expected to announce the following category to receive the first dose of vaccine soon after the end of the campaign with people over 65.

Morocco is the first country in Africa to launch the vaccination campaign against COVID-19 after securing 2 million and a half of vaccine, 2 million of Aztrazeneca vaccine manufactured in India, and a half million of Sinopharm vaccine from China.

The health ministry has announced that Morocco intends to purchase more than 60 million vaccines to vaccinate 25 million citizens.
