Morocco to receive 90 military trucks manufactured by Indian TATA

Morocco is set to receive 90 Six-Wheel military trucks manufactured by the Indian TATA Advance Systems Ltd., which its name’s type is “LPTA 2445”.

The company has revealed in pictures the ninety trucks ready to export to Morocco from the Pipavav port, pointing out that the trucks were ordered by the Moroccan Royal Army.

The company has not said anything about the financial value of the deal, or when the deal was signed.

Morocco has started in the last years purchasing a considerable number of military vehicles and trucks to boost its land arsenal capacities, as it received in 2019 from the United States 100 military trucks (types M1084, M1083, M1078) under the Excess Articles Program (EDA).

At the beginning of 2021, Morocco also received 300 VLRA military trucks from the French Arquus, a 4-wheel truck specialized in different military tasks.

According to observers, Morocco seeks to strengthen its land forces in order to counter the skirmishes which have been done by the Polisario militia in the Sahara region since 2020.
