Moroccan international football player Bilal El Khannouss on Monday evening won the 2023 Belgian Lion Award, which rewards the best player of North African origin in the Pro League.
The Racing Genk attacking midfielder, who succeeds his Moroccan countryman Tarik Tissoudali, double title holder (2021 and 2022), was ahead his countryman Ismaël Kandouss, defender of Ghent.
An indisputable starter with Limburg since last season, El Khannouss, 19, participated in the 2022 World Cup with Morocco and should play his first African Cup of Nations next January.
In women's category, 2023 Belgian Lioness Award went to Moroccan international Sakina Ouzraoui, striker of RSC Anderlecht.
