Spanish Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska reaffirmed on Friday the importance of cooperation with Morocco in the field of security, emphasizing its "essential" role in combating organized crime and drug trafficking.
In an interview with the "Canal Sur" channel on the sidelines of the 5th Ministerial Meeting of the Coalition of European Countries Against Organized Crime, held in Cádiz, Grande-Marlaska praised the "excellent coordination" between Morocco and Spain, highlighting its direct impact on efforts to dismantle criminal networks.
The minister described Morocco as a "strategic and reliable partner" with which Spain has close security cooperation, particularly in the fight against drug trafficking and transnational crime.
He also noted that progress in these areas is the fruit of close and continuous coordination between the authorities of both countries, stressing that this partnership significantly contributes to the stability and security of both shores of the Mediterranean.
