Morocco's Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch arrived in Rome on Friday evening to represent King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, at the funeral of Pope Francis.
Upon his arrival at Ciampino military airport, Akhannouch was welcomed by Morocco's Ambassador to the Holy See Rajae Naji Mekkaoui, Morocco's Ambassador to Rome Youssef Balla and a senior Vatican representative.
Several heads of state and government will attend the funeral of Pope Francis, which will take place on Saturday morning in St. Peter's Square at the Vatican.
