The Arab Republic of Egypt has reaffirmed its commitment to Morocco’s sovereignty and territorial integrity during an official visit by Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, to Rabat on Wednesday.
Dr. Abdel Aty, who was received by Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, reiterated Egypt’s adherence to the principles outlined in the Joint Communiqué of May 10, 2022. This communiqué was issued following the visit of the former Egyptian Foreign Minister to Morocco and emphasized respect for national sovereignty and the territorial unity of states.
Speaking to the press following the meeting, Dr. Abdel Aty underscored that Egypt’s foreign policy is founded on key principles, including non-interference in the internal affairs of countries and the promotion of economic development and cooperation among nations.
During their discussions, Minister Bourita received from Dr. Abdel Aty a written message addressed to King Mohammed VI, from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi. The message reaffirmed the shared commitment of both leaders to deepening the positive momentum in Moroccan-Egyptian relations.
The letter reflects the mutual desire to elevate bilateral ties to new levels of cooperation and strategic complementarity, serving the common interests of the two brotherly nations.
This visit marks a renewed chapter in the strong diplomatic partnership between Morocco and Egypt, grounded in shared values and a common vision for regional stability and development.
