Morocco-EU Parliamentary Committee to Meet in Rabat in October Following Launch of New Mediterranean Pact

The next Morocco-EU Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) meeting will take place in Rabat at the end of October, as agreed by the Committee’s co-chairs, Lahcen Haddad (Parliament of the Kingdom of Morocco) and Ruggero Razza (European Parliament).

Haddad and Razza underlined, during a meeting via conference on Tuesday July 8, the timeliness of the meeting, as it would follow shortly after the launch of the new EU Pact for the Mediterranean.

This “ambitious” proposal, which aims to strengthen cooperation between the EU and its Southern partners, will focus on fostering shared interests and mutual benefits to deliver a “more stable, prosperous and interconnected region,” the two parties said in a Joint Communiqué.

The two co-chairs also affirmed their willingness to “build a shared vision for prosperity, underpinned by peace, security and inclusive development.”
