OCP Group Launches Strategic TSP Hub to Boost Tailored Fertilizer Production at Jorf Lasfar

The OCP Group has unveiled a major milestone in its fertilizer production strategy with the official launch of the TSP Hub at its Jorf Lasfar industrial platform. This ambitious facility is poised to significantly enhance the Group’s capacity to produce tailored phosphate-based fertilizers, marking a critical step in its industrial transformation.

Spearheaded by OCP Nutricrops in collaboration with the Manufacturing SBU, OFAS, and JESA, the TSP Hub introduces an advanced production model that prioritizes flexibility, precision, and customization to meet the increasingly complex needs of global agriculture.

With two newly commissioned production lines—each capable of producing 500,000 tonnes annually—the Group’s TSP-equivalent production now surpasses 5 million tonnes per year. TSP, or Triple Super Phosphate, is a concentrated fertilizer containing over 90% plant-available phosphorus, making it ideal for nutrient-deficient soils and central to smart fertilization strategies aligned with the 4R principles: Right Source, Right Rate, Right Time, and Right Place.

“The TSP Hub represents a major step in our phosphate fertilizer production strategy,” said Youssef El Bari, CEO of OCP Nutricrops. “It strengthens our ability to deliver high agronomic value fertilizers, tailored to the specific needs of soils and farmers around the world, while enhancing our industrial precision, performance, and capacity.”

The new hub stands out for its flexible industrial process, enabling the precise integration of nutrients and additives depending on soil types and crop requirements. This shift toward customized formulations is aimed at supporting farmers in an era of agronomic diversification and evolving food security challenges.

As part of its next strategic milestone, OCP Nutricrops is now working on adapting nitrogen fertilizer units to support TSP production. The initiative involves integrating new equipment and modifying existing infrastructure, with the goal of raising total TSP production capacity to over 7 million tonnes annually by the end of 2025.

Ahmed Mahrou, Managing Director of the Manufacturing SBU, emphasized the broader industrial implications of the TSP Hub:
“The TSP Hub reflects the industrial transformation led by the Manufacturing SBU to address the challenges of fertilizer customization amid increasing agronomic diversification. It marks the emergence of an ambidextrous, agile, and customer-focused industrial model, where the production tool becomes a strategic lever.”

He added, “Through its new organization, the Manufacturing SBU is developing an increasing number of customized products tailored to highly differentiated needs. This dynamic illustrates our commitment to putting industrial performance—in flexibility, capacity, and adaptability—at the service of sustainable value creation.”

The project is supported by a robust governance structure, including the creation of a cross-functional launch team and the mobilization of over 1,200 on-site professionals across multiple disciplines. It is the result of close coordination between all stakeholders, including OCP Nutricrops, the Manufacturing SBU, engineering firm JESA, and OFAS.

In line with OCP Group’s environmental strategy, the TSP Hub operates entirely using non-conventional water sources, reaffirming the Group’s broader commitment to sustainability and responsible resource management.

With demand for phosphate-based fertilizers continuing to rise globally, the TSP Hub positions Morocco’s OCP Group as a key player in delivering innovative, tailored, and sustainable agricultural solutions.
