Morocco welcomed 13.5 million tourists by the end of August 2025, up 15% compared to the same period in 2024, according to the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy.
The summer of 2025 recorded unprecedented performances, with 4.6 million tourists between July and August 2025 (+6% compared to summer 2024), the ministry said in a statement, stressing that Morocco’s tourism sector continues to maintain its momentum.
This summer season was notably marked by the strong return of Moroccans residing abroad, who numbered 3 million between July and August 2025, representing a 13% increase compared to last summer, the same source noted.
This performance reflects both the deep attachment of Moroccans residing abroad to their homeland and the Kingdom’s ability to attract a significant number of foreign tourists.
These results confirm Morocco’s growing appeal and the relevance of the actions outlined in the 2023–2026 Tourism Roadmap, which places particular emphasis on strengthening air connectivity and enriching the tourism offer through the implementation of several incentive mechanisms designed to boost investment in entertainment and accommodation.
In this context, the ministry pointed out that this performance stands out all the more since, by comparison, global tourism growth in 2025 is not expected to exceed 5%, according to forecasts by the World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism).
