Morocco Rolls out Casablanca-N'Djamena Air Route as Chad Seeks Greater Connectivity

Morocco's airline Royal Air Maroc (RAM) launched Wednesday a direct route linking Casablanca to N'Djamena, enhancing the carrier's African network with two flights a week to the Chadian capital.

The air link marks a key step in the implementation of the Moroccan carrier's strategic development plan, strengthening its leading position in air transport with already 29 direct links on the continent, according to a press release from the airline.

On this occasion, Chadian Minister of Transport, Civil Aviation, and National Meteorology Fatimé Goukouni Weddeye emphasized that the initiative reflects a strong commitment to easing Chad’s isolation and highlights both countries’ dedication to fostering closer ties between their peoples.

Goukouni Weddeye made the statement during a ceremony held Thursday at N'Djamena international airport, where the inaugural flight landed this morning.

In her view, it also helps boost the Chadian economy and foster investment opportunities in both countries. "This is a new step that will make Chad's airspace safer, more open, and stronger."
