Casablanca Hosts 22nd “Maroc in Mode” Textile Show

The 22nd edition of the International Textile Show “Maroc in Mode” (MIM) opened on Wednesday in Casablanca, under the High Patronage of King Mohammed VI, bringing together Moroccan and international participants to explore the latest innovations and technologies shaping the textile industry.

Organized by the Moroccan Association of Textile and Clothing Industries (AMITH), in partnership with CEMS, the event runs until November 7 under the theme “Morocco, the Smart Hub for Global Textile.” It serves as a major platform to showcase Moroccan expertise, strengthen global partnerships, and highlight the country’s ambitions to position itself as a regional leader in sustainable and smart textile production.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour underscored the strategic role of the textile sector in Morocco’s industrial landscape, describing it as one of the Kingdom’s key job-creating industries with around 230,000 direct positions.

“The sector has major strategic importance,” Mezzour said. “After going through a period of profound crisis, it is now witnessing a tangible revival that has allowed it to regain its place within the national industrial ecosystem.”

He added that the textile industry, Morocco’s third-largest exporter, generates a total revenue of MAD 63 billion—MAD 43 billion from exports and MAD 20 billion from the local market. This growth, he noted, reflects the country’s broader efforts to reinforce industrial sovereignty, promote decarbonization, and boost the added value of national production, in line with the High Royal Guidelines.

The 2025 edition of MIM features more than 200 exhibitors from Morocco and abroad, alongside major international contractors and buyers seeking new partnership opportunities. With participants from over 22 countries, Casablanca is reaffirming its position as a strategic link connecting Europe, Africa, and Asia in the global textile value chain.

The show highlights Morocco’s growing reputation as a “smart hub” for textile innovation, sustainability, and collaboration, as the country continues to expand its footprint in international markets while driving its green industrial transition.
