Kenya Launches Economic Promotion Week in Morocco to Boost Bilateral Investment Ties

The Republic of Kenya on Monday launched its Economic Promotion Week in Morocco, an event designed to showcase Kenya’s economic potential across multiple sectors and strengthen business partnerships between Kenyan and Moroccan operators.

The initiative was inaugurated in Rabat, marking the beginning of a week-long series of meetings and networking events scheduled from November 10 to 16.

To commemorate the launch, Ambassador Mohamed Methqal, Director General of the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation (AMCI), held talks with a high-level Kenyan economic delegation visiting Morocco.

Organized as part of Morocco’s broader efforts to advance economic diplomacy in Africa, the event is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, alongside AMCI and its institutional partners.

Throughout the week, the Kenyan delegation will hold meetings in Rabat, Casablanca, and Laayoune with both public institutions and private sector leaders. Engagements will include discussions with the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), the Professional Association of Moroccan Banks (GPBM), Casablanca Finance City, and the Regional Investment Center (CRI) in Laayoune.

The Kenyan delegation is co-led by Carole Kariuki, Director of the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA), and Onditi Kennedy, National Director of the Kenya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI), and includes senior officials from various public and private entities.

The Kenya Economic Promotion Week aims to create a platform for building win-win partnerships, exploring investment opportunities, and enhancing South-South cooperation between Morocco and Kenya—two of Africa’s leading economies pursuing greater integration on the continent.
