Moroccan authorities have urged citizens to exercise heightened caution after the national meteorological service issued alerts warning of severe and unstable weather conditions expected to affect several parts of the Kingdom.
According to official forecasts, the coming period will be marked by heavy rainfall, localized thunderstorms, snowfall in high-altitude areas, and strong winds, raising the risk of flooding and weather-related disruptions in a number of regions.
In a statement, the Ministry of the Interior called on the public to avoid taking unnecessary risks, particularly by attempting to cross flood-prone roads, valleys, or low-lying plains that could be exposed to sudden flash floods.
The Ministry also warned against any behavior that could endanger lives or property, stressing the importance of fully complying with instructions and guidance issued by public authorities during this period.
As a preventive measure, citizens were strongly advised to limit travel and avoid non-essential movements, especially in areas directly affected by the anticipated weather disturbances.
The Ministry noted that local authorities have already implemented a series of proactive steps to reduce potential impacts, including field interventions to clean and maintain sewerage and drainage systems, as well as addressing known flood-risk locations.
These efforts are accompanied by the mobilization of human and logistical resources, with all available capacities placed on maximum alert to ensure rapid response and timely assistance whenever required.
Authorities reiterated their commitment to closely monitoring the situation and called on citizens to remain vigilant, follow official updates, and prioritize safety as adverse weather conditions unfold.
