Morocco seeks to recover from Pandemic through tourism during summer

Morocco seems determined to overcome the negative repercussions of the Coronavirus on its economy, by relying on the recovery of the tourism sector during the summer.

Morocco decided to open its airspace to flights for the return of Moroccans residing abroad, especially in Europe, in contrast to last summer.

Morocco has more than 5 million of its citizens abroad, which is an important number and is able to create an important boom in the tourism sector during the summer, as most of them prefer to come in this season to spend the holiday with their families.

To achieve the goal of the entry of large numbers of Moroccans abroad into the homeland, King Mohammed VI himself intervened to facilitate their transit, and gave instructions to air carriers to reduce prices, in addition to other instructions related to compensating those who would come by sea from Italy and France.

Morocco has also decided to open its airspace to foreign tourists, and therefore it is expected that the Kingdom will witness a great boom due to the influx of Moroccans abroad and tourists.

Through these steps, Morocco aims to accelerate the recovery process from the repercussions of the Coronavirus on the economy and return to normal life.

Morocco is currently the most advanced African country in vaccinating its citizens, with about 10 million people fully vaccinated against the Coronavirus.
