The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, hosted by Morocco, is the most successful edition in the tournament’s history in terms of revenue generation.
According to CAF, revenues from the Morocco 2025 AFCON recorded a sharp increase of 90 percent compared to previous editions, marking an unprecedented financial performance for African football’s flagship competition.
CAF attributed this exceptional outcome to several key factors, notably the significant rise in the number of commercial partners, expanded distribution of media rights, and growing international interest in new markets, including the Far East, China, and Japan.
The confederation also highlighted strong growth in sponsorship, noting that the 2025 edition attracted 23 sponsors, compared to nine sponsors during the Cameroon 2019 AFCON and 17 sponsors for the Ivory Coast 2023 tournament.
CAF said these figures reflect the increasing commercial appeal of the Africa Cup of Nations and the success of Morocco’s hosting model in enhancing the tournament’s global visibility and financial performance.
