A Moroccan delegation from the Fez-Meknes region has held talks in Amman with the President of the Jordanian Senate, Faisal Al-Fayez, focusing on strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of the social economy and tourism.
The discussions took place on Tuesday during a meeting between Al-Fayez and the delegation led by Abdelouahed El Ansari, President of the Fez-Meknes Regional Council. Al-Fayez highlighted the long-standing ties between Morocco and Jordan, describing relations between the two countries as historic and rooted in shared leadership under King Mohammed VI of Morocco and King Abdullah II of Jordan.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the Jordan-Morocco Exhibition for Traditional Industries and Crafts, attended by Morocco’s ambassador to Jordan, Fouad Akhrif. Al-Fayez praised the exhibition’s cultural and economic value, calling for it to be held annually to strengthen exchanges between the two countries and promote cooperation in economic, cultural, and tourism sectors.
El Ansari, for his part, welcomed the strong relations between Rabat and Amman, noting that Morocco and Jordan share similar positions on a number of regional and international issues, in line with the guidance of both countries’ leaderships.
Earlier this week, the Moroccan delegation visited the Jordanian cities of Madaba and Salt, where it held meetings with local officials to explore avenues for cooperation at the municipal level. The exhibition, which opened last Saturday in Amman, features traditional Moroccan and Jordanian cuisine, crafts, and clothing, offering visitors insight into the cultural heritage of both countries.
