Morocco, Turkey seek to consolidate economic partnership through new roadmap

Morocco and Turkey have expressed their will to strengthen the bilateral relations, notably in the economic partnership through a new roadmap aiming at promoting investments.

According to MAP news agency, talks held on Tuesday by videoconference between the Moroccan minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, and the Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu who praised "the leadership of King Mohammed VI and Morocco's role as a pole of stability and development in the region ".

The two ministers welcomed the excellent relations of friendship and bilateral cooperation and stressed the need to reactivate the partnership mechanisms, through the organization of new sessions of the political dialogue and of the Joint Commission, says a statement by the ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad.

Bourita and Çavuşoğlu underlined the importance of consolidating economic partnership through the establishment of an investment promotion roadmap focusing on the new value chains.

They also announced the organization, on the sidelines of the next Joint Commission, of an Economic Forum that will be dedicated to trade and investment, the statement adds.

The two ministers discussed the health situation and the efforts made in the fight against the pandemic. They decided, on this occasion, to mutually recognize the vaccination certificates issued by the respective authorities of the two countries.

Stressing the convergence of views on regional and international issues, MM. Bourita and Çavuşoğlu pledged to continue coordination and consultation on issues of common interest, in particular Libya, the Middle East and the Mediterranean.
