Algeria ignores Morocco’s help, describes it ‘occupier’

Although a number of Morocco’s initiatives to repair the relations with Algeria, it seems that the last one does not want to turn the page of disputes but rather it pushes to keep it for ‘internal purposes'.

In the last few weeks, the king of Morocco Mohamed VI has called on Algeria to surpass the bilateral disputes and open a new page for the benefit of the two people, the answer from the Algerian regime has been utter silence.

Algeria has recently suffered from wildfires that have broken out in different regions in the east of the capital, in order to help, Morocco has offered two Canadairs planes for Algerian authorities, but the answer has been absolute disregard.

Yesterday, King Mohammed VI sent a message of condolences and compassion to the president of Algeria, Abdelmajid Tebboune, following the forest fires which claimed several victims, the King expresses in his personal name and on behalf of the Moroccan people his total solidarity with sister Algeria in this painful ordeal.

The answer of Algeria on this message or rather these Moroccan peaceful initiatives was the declaration of the army chief of staff, Said Chengriha, who described Morocco as an ‘occupier country’ when he received on Thursday the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to talk about the situation of the Sahara dispute.

Chengriha did not miss the chance to repeat the same cylinder by accusing Morocco of having expansion ambitions in the region.

According to many observers, the Algerian regime ignores the Moroccan initiatives for the purpose to keep the disputes for the internal consuming, without an external enemy, the Algeria regime will be exposed to the people, and here where the problem lies in.
