Algerian regime accuses Morocco of hostility and setting fires in Kabylie region

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has again accused Morocco of supporting separatist movements that threaten public security and national unity in his country, and of providing assistance to two opposition movements to the regime, one of whom is calling for the secession of the Kabylie region, according to the official Algerian news agency.

These accusations came during a special meeting of the Supreme Security Council, chaired by Tebboune, and the meeting was devoted to assessing the general situation of the country following the recent events in the Kbylie region in which the Algerian president accused the opposition "Rashad" movement, and the separatist "MAC" movement, which Algeria considers terrorist movements, of setting fires in the Kabylie region.

According to a statement by the Algerian presidency, these two movements receive support from Morocco, which forced Algeria to "reconsider relations with the Kingdom" with intensifying security monitoring on the border with Morocco.

This discourse is considered a new chapter of the Algerian regime's attempts to deal with internal problems by directing hostility towards Morocco and holding it responsible for the imbalances in the country.

Observers believe that this speech is an official declaration of Algeria's rejection of King Mohammed VI's call to reform bilateral relations between the two countries and to open a new page based on respect and cooperation, in the throne speech presented by King Mohammed VI weeks ago.
