Cabo Verde's Minister of Tourism and Transport, José Luís Sá Nogueira, reaffirmed on Monday in Rabat his country’s interest in benefiting from Morocco’s expertise in aviation, in light of the country's notable achievements in the sector.
In a press statement following his meeting with Morocco’s Minister of Transport and Logistics, Abdessamad Kayouh, the Cabo Verdean official stated that his visit aims to explore ways to strengthen cooperation in civil aviation, with the goal of boosting economic exchange between the two countries.
Sá Nogueira emphasized the importance of investment in tourism, which relies heavily on air connectivity. He highlighted the "strong relationship" and excellent cooperation between Morocco and Cabo Verde, describing it as a model of partnership between African nations.
For his part, Minister Kayouh noted that the meeting served as an opportunity to review all possible avenues to enhance bilateral relations and improve air connectivity—particularly with six weekly flights currently scheduled to Praia and Sal.
The two parties also agreeed to provide training for Cabo Verdean pilots in Morocco. A business meeting is also being planned between entrepreneurs from both countries to explore investment opportunities in the ferry and logistics sectors.
Referring to the major investments made by Cabo Verde in tourism, Kayouh underscored the added value that Morocco’s experience could bring to the country’s logistics sector.
