President of the Central African Republic (CAR), Professor Faustin-Archange Touadéra, lauded on Sunday the “enlightened and exemplary leadership” of King Mohammed VI in fostering a vision of a united and prosperous Africa.
Speaking at the opening of the Investment Round Table dedicated to financing the Central African Republic’s National Development Plan (NDP) 2024-2028, held September 14–15 in Casablanca, Touadéra expressed deep gratitude to the Moroccan monarch for hosting the event.
“The Kingdom of Morocco, under the enlightened guidance and exemplary leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, has kindly hosted this vital meeting for the Central African people,” the Head of State said.
He praised the Moroccan people’s “admirable resilience and ongoing commitment,” describing them as a symbol of peace, stability, and prosperity, and highlighted the “excellent relations of friendship and cooperation” between Rabat and Bangui.
Touadéra emphasized that after “decades of conflict and fragility, but also resilience,” the CAR is firmly committed to reconstruction and sustainable development. Positioned at the heart of the African continent, he described his country as a “land of promise and opportunity, rich in resources and strategically located.”
The CAR’s NDP 2024-2028, he explained, provides the framework for designing and implementing public policies aimed at improving living conditions for the Central African population over the next five years.
The opening ceremony also featured remarks by Morocco’s Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fettah, alongside representatives of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa, the European Commission, the African Development Bank Group, the United Nations System, and the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
Several Moroccan officials were also in attendance, including Minister of Transport and Logistics Abdessamad Kayouh, Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN Omar Hilale, AMCI Director General Mohamed Methqal, and CDG Director General Khalid Safir, as well as figures from the public and private sectors.
