Covid-19: over 8 million Moroccan people received vaccine

The number of Moroccan people who received the first dose of anti-Covid vaccines reached 8,011,014 until today, according to the Ministry of Health.

The same source added, that there are 4,947,483 fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses).

Morocco is still the first African nation to reach these numbers in terms of vaccinations, while Nigeria, which is the second nation in Africa in this field, has only recorded 2 million vaccinated people.

The Ministry of Health has said that Morocco seeks to achieve herd immunity in the coming few months, by vaccination 30 million people which equals 80 percent of Morocco’s population.

Morocco uses 2 kinds of Covid-19 vaccine, the AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccine, and the Chinese Sinopharm, and it approved the use of the Russian vaccine Sputnik V, and the American Johnson and Johnson but no doses of these last 2 vaccines have arrived in the country yet.
