An earthquake struck Morocco’s Al Haouz province in the early hours of Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 04:26 a.m., registering a magnitude of 4.5 on the Richter scale.
According to data from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the epicenter was located just two kilometers from the commune of Talat N’Yaaqoub in Al Haouz, and about 31 kilometers south of Amizmiz, at a depth of approximately 13 kilometers beneath the Earth’s surface.
This tremor coincided with the approach of the second anniversary of the devastating Al Haouz earthquake in Morocco on September 8, 2023, which measured 6.8 on the Richter scale and caused severe human and material losses.
