Head of Morocco’s government, Saad-Eddine El Othmani, has warned of a third COVID-19 wave could hit the country if there is no increased vigilance.
The reason of this warning, according to El Othamni, as he said yesterday on his Twitter official account that the infection rate in recent days has increased, adding that 72 severe cases of COVID-19 that required resuscitation were recorded in the past 24 hours.
El Othmani added in this regard, “This is an indication that everyone must be careful so that we do not witness the third wave”.
However, the pandemic situation in Morocco is still controlled compared to many countries in the world. The total number of COVID-19 cases recorded in Morocco since the beginning of the pandemic until today is limited at 494 358, while 482, 084 people were recovered, and death cases reached 8798.
In addition to that, Morocco is among the top 10 countries in the world in terms of the highest number of people vaccinated against Coronavirus, with more than 4 million people who received the first dose, and more than 3 million people have been immunized against covid-19 after receiving the second dose.
