Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh visits Rabat, praises Morocco for its Palestine's support

Ismail Haniyeh, Chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau, said that his visit to Morocco on Wednesday comes under the auspices of King Mohammed VI, announcing that Hamas will hold talks with Saad Eddine El Othmani as Morocco’s prime minister.

Haniyeh affirmed that he is happy with his first visit to Morocco, which he described as "a country far away in geography, but in the heart of the great Arab and Islamic nation, and in direct contact with Jerusalem in history, present and future," stressing that "the Moroccan Gate, the Maghribi Quarter, the Moroccan Quarter, and their millions that roamed The streets of Morocco from one end to the other in support and solidarity with the Palestinians is an affirmation that Morocco was, is, and will remain at the heart of the developments of the scene."

The head of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement stated that this visit comes in the context of "the victory achieved by the resistance during the recent aggression of the occupation forces," which he described as only one round of the conflict, praising the support provided by Moroccans to the Palestinian resistance during this stage.

Haniyah who landed in Rabat with several members of Hamas, and received by the leaders of the Moroccan Justice and Development Party, added that the relationship between Palestine and Morocco "is not a relationship of interests or an emergency relationship, but rather a relationship based on religious, humanitarian and fraternal foundations," noting that Morocco " He is at the heart of the Jerusalem issue."

Haniyeh stressed the pivotal role that Rabat plays in the Palestinian cause, which he said is a historical role that extends in the present and will continue in the future, stating that his visit to Morocco is an expression of the Moroccan people's embrace of the resistance, and he also announced that he will meet during it with many Moroccan officials to study a set of issues.
