French daily La Tribune wrote on Friday that Safran Group’s aircraft engine industrial complex, whose launch ceremony was chaired last Monday in Casablanca by King Mohammed VI, "reinforces Morocco’s footprint in the global industry, where the Kingdom has already carved out a niche in several sectors."
La Tribune points out that Morocco has been working on establishing this international industrial presence for nearly two decades, noting that "beyond its pharmaceutical industry, recognized for complying with European standards, or its significant phosphate industry, the Kingdom has been propelled into the international automotive industry over the past decade.
The economic and financial news outlet recalls Renault’s mega-factory in Tangier "that supplies several European markets, including France, Spain, Italy, and even the United Kingdom."
"Today, the Moroccan automotive industry has earned the trust of several international equipment manufacturers, including Stellantis, which operates a plant in Kenitra, as well as those active through their networks, such as the Japanese Nissan or the German Volkswagen,” La Tribune emphasizes.
In the aerospace sector, the French daily adds, Safran—present in Morocco for 26 years with ten sites and over 4,800 employees—views its new investment as a strengthening of the Kingdom, which already hosted a growing industry, noting that Morocco’s aerospace exports have risen from less than €1 million in 2005 to over €26 million in 2024.
