Moroccan drone’s attack: firm message to Polisario

The conflict between Morocco and the Polisario separatist front has recently witnessed, what could be a turning point, after the Moroccan army killed one of the important Polisario’s military figures in an attack using a military drone.

According to observers, this is the first time Morocco is known to have used a drone in its struggle with the Polisario over the Sahara issue, pointing out that the attack was precise and resulted in the death of Polisario commander Addah Al-Bendir.

Officially, Morocco has not said anything about the attack, while the Polisario has confirmed the death of Al-Bandir, and noted that his death was as a result of a Moroccan military operation using a Drone.

The same source has said that Al-Bandir, who was the head of the gendarmerie, was killed while he was on a military mission close to the security wall that was built by the Moroccan army to counter the Polisario’s attacks.

According to many observers, the Moroccan use of a drone for the first time in the military conflict with The Polisario could be read by the last one as a firm message, a message that warns that any approach or aggression will be deadly faced.

The Polisario Front, through its media arms, has not stopped since last December of publishing daily reports about what it says “the continuous attacks against Moroccan army who hides behind security wall”, claiming the death of several Moroccan soldiers, while Morocco has confirmed any death among its soldiers.

However, many observers wait what the developments could happen in the coming days, after the Moroccan drone’s attack, will it end the Polisario skirmishes or open a new chapter in the conflict?
