Efforts to revitalize trade and deepen economic cooperation between Morocco and Guatemala were the focus of talks held on Tuesday in Rabat between Omar Hejira, Secretary General for Foreign Trade, and Julio Eduardo Orozco Pérez, Guatemala’s Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The discussions centered on identifying new business opportunities and capitalizing on the economic complementarities between the two countries. Both officials reaffirmed their commitment to giving fresh momentum to bilateral relations through the establishment of a joint working group and the organization of an upcoming official visit to Guatemala.
According to Hejira, the joint working group will oversee preparations for Morocco’s official visit to Guatemala, which is scheduled to take place in 2026.
For his part, Orozco underlined his country’s determination to strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation with Morocco, particularly by expanding trade exchanges and promoting private investment.
The meeting was attended by a high-level delegation of Guatemalan business leaders and forms part of ongoing efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of trade and investment.
