Morocco and Italy Move to Deepen Judicial Cooperation in Rabat Talks

Morocco and Italy reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening judicial cooperation during high-level talks held Friday in Rabat between Minister of Justice Abdellatif Ouahbi and Italian Minister of Justice Carlo Nordio.

The meeting provided an opportunity for both officials to review key issues of mutual interest, evaluate the progress made in judicial collaboration, and explore new mechanisms to reinforce bilateral coordination channels.

Speaking to the press following the talks, Nordio emphasized the depth of trust and mutual respect that characterizes relations between the Italian Republic and the Kingdom of Morocco. He underlined Italy’s determination to advance its “fruitful and constructive” partnership with Morocco, particularly in the field of justice.

“This meeting demonstrates the depth of friendship and strong cooperation between the two countries,” Nordio said, noting that Morocco and Italy share a long history, solid ties of friendship, and aligned strategic interests.

For his part, Minister Ouahbi highlighted the quality of relations between Rabat and Rome across several sectors. He noted that discussions with his Italian counterpart were marked by complete clarity and transparency, covering a range of issues of shared concern.

Ouahbi also stressed the importance of further consolidating judicial cooperation in the months ahead, especially in light of Italy’s continued support for Morocco on numerous issues.

The meeting reflects a broader momentum in Moroccan-Italian relations, which have seen steady growth across political, economic, and diplomatic domains, with justice and security emerging as key pillars of collaboration.
