Morocco's Lieutenant General Mohammed Berrid received on Tuesday Major General Vincent Nyakarundi, Chief of Staff of the Rwandan Army, who is on a working visit to Morocco from November 10 to 14.
According to a statement from the Royal Armed Forces General Staff, the visit forms part of the implementation of the military cooperation agreement signed in June 2025 in Rabat, which covers a broad range of areas in the defence and military fields.
During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral military cooperation and deepen the exchange of expertise and coordination between the two armies.
Major General Nyakarundi expressed his satisfaction with the excellent ties between Morocco and Rwanda, describing the visit as “a key step” in advancing cooperation and consolidating mutual understanding between the armed forces of the two countries.
At the conclusion of their talks, the two officials reaffirmed their shared commitment to reinforcing and expanding the partnership, with the goal of establishing a long-term and exemplary model of military collaboration.
The relationship between Morocco and Rwanda has developed steadily in recent years, particularly since the historic visit of King Mohammed VI to Kigali in 2016, which laid the foundations for a strategic partnership focused on promoting development, stability, and peace across Africa.
